Vision & Mission

VISION

Our vision is to be a fellowship of vibrant and faithful Christian witnesses in the medical and dental community, both in Singapore and the world.

MISSION

We are committed to mobilising, equipping, and guiding the medical and dental community to be servants of God’s Kingdom for the glory of God, in the following ways:

  1. Integrating Christian faith in our workplace as we work, meet, and pray together;
  2. Guiding and mentoring medical and dental students into mature Christian professionals;
  3. Actively engaging in medical missions;
  4. Influencing the conversation on topics where healthcare interfaces with faith; and
  5. Encouraging a global view of health and faith, through interactions with our regional and international partners.

History

CMDF Singapore was formed in 1973 under the pioneering leadership of Prof Khoo Oon Teik, Prof Phoon Wai Onn, Prof Tow Siang Hwa, Prof Wong Poi Kwong, Dr Tan Cheng Imm, Dr Wong Hee Ong, Dr Chew Pin Kee, Dr Aw Swee Eng, Dr Evelyn Hanam, Dr Bobby Sng, and others.

Soon after CMDF hosted the International Congress of Christian Physicians in 1975 and became an affiliate member. The ICCP has since been reconstituted as the International Christian Medical and Dental Association (ICMDA). By our affiliation with ICMDA, CMDF Singapore networks with numerous national Christian medical fellowships in more than 30 nations across the globe.
